It’s true. God does love you just the way you are, and because of His great love for you, He wants to give you a total makeover. Not your hairstyle or your eye color, but your heart. He wants to make you new from the inside out!
Consider these verses: Romans 5:8, 2 Corinthians 5:17, 1 John 4:10
Why the need for a heart makeover?
In essence, God wants to change you – create in you a new heart. Why you might wonder? Consider this. Have you ever told a lie? Have you ever stolen anything, irrespective of its value? Have you ever used God’s name as a curse word? If you are honest with yourself before God and answered yes to any of these questions, you are admitting to God that you have sin in your heart. That’s what God calls it when we disobey Him – sin.
Eternity is at stake!
And though God is loving, He is also just and holy. So on judgment day, because of your sin, God as a just judge will find you guilty. The sentence is eternity in Hell. Please don’t be fooled into thinking your good works will get you off the hook. That won’t work in civil court, and it certainly won’t work in God’s court. Does this concern you? It should, your eternity is what is at stake. You need someone to pay your fine.
Incredible act of love!
In an incredible act of love for you, Jesus Christ did that for you 2000 years ago on the cross. God put your sins on His only Son and punished Him so you can walk free from the courtroom. Jesus then rose from the grave three days later and defeated death once and for all. GOD LOVES YOU THAT MUCH! He wants you to be with Him now and into eternity. Put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ for your salvation and God will forgive your sins and open the gates of heaven to you. God will give you a new heart and a desire to love and live for Him.
Chose Jesus, he’ll make you new!
Do you want to be forgiven of your sins and made right with God? Do you want to be assured eternity in heaven with Jesus? Do you want God to give you a total makeover from the inside out by giving you a new heart?
Then you can pray a prayer like this from your heart.
“Dear God, today I ask you to forgive me and wash away my sins (name them). This day I put my faith and trust in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. He is the only way for me to be saved. He is ‘The way, the truth, and the life.’” Please forgive me, give me a new heart, and grant me Your gift of everlasting life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”
If you just prayed that prayer and meant it with your heart, Jesus Christ has now taken residence in your heart! Your decision to follow Christ means God has forgiven you and that you will spend eternity in heaven. The Bible tells us, “If we confess our sins, he (Jesus) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
